Together, a little more conscious
Corporate social responsibility is quite the trendy term these days, and everyone wants to get involved. At Mepal, we've been doing this for years. Because we believe it’s important to create products that make both people and the environment happy.
Even though it sometimes feels like a drop in the ocean, we’re convinced that every little bit helps. And when everyone joins in, those little bits suddenly add up to quite a lot.
We work according to three simple principles and just use our common sense.

Less waste
We waste over 160 kilos of food per person every year and throw away about 30 kilos of plastic. That can be better! With Mepal products, you can contribute to a more sustainable society.

Be mindful of your belongings
If you use your things for longer, you throw away less. Simple. We want people to enjoy our products for as long as possible. With spare parts, you can extend the lifespan of the product.

Looking out for each other
How 'noaberschap' (a local term from the Achterhoek region meaning looking out for your neighbours) shapes the culture of our organisation. Internally and externally. Check out our unique approach.
Mepal is B Corp certified
Since 1950, we’ve been focusing on developing products that make both people and the planet happy, which is why we’re particularly proud to be B Corp certified. To earn the B Corp label, a company has to go through quite a process. During this certification, an organisation must score at least 80 out of 200 points. These points are spread across different impact areas: employees, community, environment, governance, and customers. Over the past year, we’ve worked hard on this process and scored 101.6 points. As expected, Mepal scored highly thanks to our close collaboration with social workshops, local production, and, of course, our innovative designs using sustainable materials. A B Corp certification isn’t a one-off; every three years, the standards are reassessed to see if we still meet (and often exceed) the criteria for recertification.
