There are a few handy tips to ensure your insulating product lasts as long as possible:

  • Clean the product before first use.
  • To ensure that you can enjoy your coloured stainless steel product for as long as possible, we recommend washing the product by hand.
  • The plastic parts and the brushed stainless-steel parts can go in the dishwasher.

  • Store the product open, i.e. without a lid.
  • We do not recommend using these insulated products to keep milk and/or baby food warm. During keeping warm, there is an increased risk of bacterial growth. However, you can use these products for your favourite cappuccino, for instance, because it is not just milk. You then add coffee.
  • The product is not suitable for use in the microwave or oven.
  • To make sure your drink stays hot or cold longer, rinse the product with hot or cold water before use.

Is there a tea or coffee deposit in one of your insulated products? Use the following two tips to remove the deposits properly.

  • Tip 1: Dissolve a dishwasher tablet in hot/boiling water and leave it in the drinking product for 24 hours. After this, wash the product by hand or dishwasher. If necessary, you can repeat this several times. Never use an abrasive or scouring pad, as this will damage the cup, causing the deposit to adhere even faster.
  • Tip 2: Add a splash of lemon juice to the drinking product and then fill it with boiling water. Leave the mixture in the product for 24 hours. If necessary, you can repeat this several times. Afterwards, brush off the tarnish with a washing-up brush.

Is one of the parts of your insulation product damaged or in need of replacement? Most parts are available in our parts shop.

If you can't find it and still have questions, you can always contact us via customer service.

Yes, our products, including our bottles are extensively tested by external specialised labs. The products comply with the applicable standards as set by the EU. These standards are based on extensive research and this is the guideline for us that our products must meet. During the quality tests, the temperatures, times and simulants prescribed for the relevant product and use are tested. Here, migration must remain everywhere and specifically within prescribed limits. For each type of material and application, the standard prescribes which components may migrate at which limits. This is also enforced by the EU.

Useful tips to make sure your on-the-go products last as long as possible:

  • All on-the-go products can go in the dishwasher.
  • Store the lid and lunchbox/lunch pot separately: this ensures they dry well.
  • You can boil out the sealing rings of the on-the-go products (e.g. in the lunch pots). Note: the other parts cannot be boiled out!

Yes, hot drinks can go in your insulated bottle, but be careful when you open the bottle. The bottle is suitable for drinks up to 45 degrees Celsius (113°F). Make sure the drink is not too hot to avoid damaging the bottle or injuring yourself.

With the products from our insulated line, you can keep drinks or food hot or cold for a long time. Whether you're always busy and on the go or just want to enjoy a hot coffee, the products from the insulated line can do it all.

To make sure your favourite drink stays hot or cold for as long as possible, we recommend the following:

  • Want to keep a drink warm? Fill the mug or bottle with hot (tap) water beforehand and leave it to stand for a while before pouring your hot drink into the mug or bottle.
  • Do you want to keep a drink cold? Then fill the mug or bottle with cold (tap) water beforehand and leave it to stand for a while. For extra cooling, you can also add ice cubes to your drink. That way you can enjoy a nice cold drink for as long as possible.
  • You can also keep the insulated lunch pot as warm and cold as possible by pre-filling it with ice-cold or hot water.

Pre-rinsing/filling actually ensures that you already bring the insulated products up to temperature a little. This keeps your hot or cold drink/food at the desired temperature for longer.

Thanks to our insulated lunch pot, you no longer need a microwave or fridge to keep or bring your food to temperature. Ideal! But how do you make sure your food stays hot or cold for as long as possible?

  1. How long your food stays hot or cold depends a lot on the type, quantity and starting temperature of your food. If you take lukewarm pasta in the insulated lunch pot, you can imagine that it will not stay hot as long as considerably hot soup.
  2. A fully filled lunch pot will stay hot or cold longer than a half-filled pot. This is because there is less air inside, which heats up or cools down more easily.
  3. If you rinse the pot with hot or ice-cold water before filling it, you ensure that the temperature is maintained for longer. The temperature difference with your hot or cold meal is then a lot smaller.
  4. The maximum time your meal can stay warm is 6 to 8 hours. Your meal will stay cold in the insulated lunch pot for up to 12 hours.

Fun fact: want a nice hot boiled egg during your break? With the insulated lunch pot, you can! Fill your thermo lunch pot with boiling water and add your egg or eggs (max. 2) and let the eggs sit in the lunch pot for at least 2 hours. After 2 hours, your egg will be perfectly cooked and nice and hot.

If there are tea or coffee deposits in one of your insulated products, we have 2 tips that can help remove them:

Tip 1: dissolve a dishwasher tablet in hot/boiling water and leave it in the drinking product for 24 hours. After this, wash the product by hand or dishwasher.
If necessary, you can repeat this several times. Never use an abrasive or scouring pad, as this will damage the cup, causing the deposit to adhere even faster.

Tip 2: add a dash of lemon juice to the drinking product and then fill it with boiling water. Leave the mixture in the product for 24 hours. If necessary, you can repeat this several times. Afterwards, brush off the tarnish with a washing-up brush.

A nice added value is that the lids of the snack, lunch, and fruit & veggie pots are interchangeable. This way, you can combine endlessly and never grab the wrong lid from your kitchen cupboard.

The water bottle can be dried well using a thin tea towel. In fact, a thin tea towel can pass through the narrow neck, allowing you to get the water bottle dry on the inside as well. Another option is to wash the water bottle by hand, then rinse it well with warm water and put it away without the cap on. The inside will then dry by itself.

Your water bottle Ellipse naturally goes everywhere with you. But then: ai, the loop cracks! Fortunately, you can easily obtain a new loop via our parts shop. How to replace it, we explain below:

Step 01:
Press the loop inwards with a pen.

Step 02:
Push the end of the loop out through the inside of the cap. Tighten a bit and your loop is back in place!

Parts for the Ellipse water bottle are available in our parts shop.

The clips on your Take a Break lunchbox have broken. Annoying! Fortunately, you can easily replace them yourself. The photos below show how we do it:

Hold the lid of your lunchbox upside down. On the side of the clip, you will see two small pins sticking out. Press one side inwards. Now push the little clip out easily.

The clip is now completely off. Time to fit a new clip! This is actually just as easy.

And done: your lunch box is ready for use again.

Yes, all five Mepal sports bottles are dishwasher safe and therefore easy to clean.

Yes, all five Mepal sports bottles are leakproof.

Good to know:
- The Squeeze sports bottle has a leakproof valve.
- The Flip drink bottle is leakproof when closed (when the spout is facing down).
- The Shakebeker, the Pull sports bottle, and the Twist insulated bottle are also leakproof.

The capacity varies per type of sports bottle. See below for the correct capacity per sports bottle.

- Squeeze sports bottle: 600 ml
- Flip drink bottle: 600 ml
- Shakebeker: 800 ml
- Pull sports bottle: 800 ml
- Twist insulated bottle: 600 ml

Of the sports bottles, one model is suitable for carbonated drinks, which is the Flip drink bottle.
It’s important to note that this bottle is only suitable for carbonated drinks when you use the bottle without the straw and do not fill it to the brim.

For four of the five Mepal sports bottles, the parts are interchangeable. This interchangeability applies to the Flip drink bottle, the Shakebeker, the Pull sports bottle, and the Twist insulated bottle. The Squeeze sports bottle is an exception, as this bottle has a soft body and only works with one type of lid.

Additionally, all four lids of the above products fit on the four bodies that belong to them.
This way, you can adjust the color, size, and functionality to your own use and style.
